5 Sanity Tips for Moms on the Go

Life can be quite chaotic at times, especially for moms who are always on the go. Overwhelmed by the daily hustle and bustle, busy schedules and endless to-do lists, they skip a meal or two or forget to make time for themselves. Day after day, moms try to take care of their families, cook healthy meals, excel at work and be there for their partners. However, what they need to do is slow down and try to make their lives more relaxed by embracing some simple tricks and tend to themselves. Thus, if you’re a busy mum yourself, it’s important that you remain healthy and sane, so make sure to try some of these organizational and time-saving tips.

1. Switch to meal planning

Homemade meals are of the utmost importance for the health of your family, but it’s not always easy to come up with a healthy and easy recipe after a long day of running around. Fortunately, there’s an easy solution – meal planning. As a mom on the go, you should start planning your family meals for an entire week. Instead of wasting your time trying to think of an idea for your family dinner, you can just look at your schedule and start cooking.

In addition, you’ll also be able to save time on grocery shopping. You should pick a day for grocery shopping and buy supplies for your entire week. You will have all the ingredients you need within your reach so you won’t have to go to a store because you’ve forgotten to buy something after work. Furthermore, this will also enable you to buy in bulk, which can save you a lot of money. Take some time to find easy recipes that can be prepared quickly. If you have some leftovers, you should freeze them and have some emergency meals ready just in case.

2. Be prepared for the unexpected

Moms on the go should always be prepared for the unexpected even if it sounds impossible. However, you’ll be surprised how easy it actually is. For example, you should always have a first aid kit in your car, as well as an emergency bag with some extra clothes. You can also stock up your car with wipes, baby powders, imperishable snacks, kids’ games, etc. This way, if you get held up in traffic or need to make unexpected stops and turns, you’ll always have the essentials on you. In addition, having several games and movies in the car will keep your kids occupied and happy.

3. Learn how to multitask efficiently

Every mom knows how it is – you’ve just started doing something when your baby wakes up and starts crying. Then you need to be with them even though you have dozens of things to finish before bedtime. Thus, it’s important that you learn to multitask so that you can take care of your baby and get things done. Practical baby wraps will definitely make your life easier. You can enjoy the gentle touch of your baby against you as you tackle some of your daily tasks. In addition, since your little one will be close to you, they’ll be able to feel and smell you and hear your heartbeat, which will make them feel safe. You’ll also be at peace knowing that your little one is close to you while you’re still able to cross things off of your to-do list.

4. Tech up your life

Technology has provided us with numerous amenities that can make our lives easier and more organized. You should definitely take advantage of all those apps that are available for free. Instead of carrying weighty planners, you can just use a calendar app to keep track of your appointments. You can also shop groceries online and even schedule visits to doctors via the Internet. Finding healthy and quick recipes has never been easier – you just need to find a cooking app. You can even pay your bills online instead of waiting in line for hours.

5. Always make some time for yourself

No matter how busy you are, you should always make some time for yourself. Whether it’s a relaxing bath in the evening or spending a few hours at a spa, indulging yourself will help you relieve stress and recharge your energy. Otherwise, you can get completely overwhelmed, which may even lead to anxiety and depression. Not only will this affect your health, but it will also affect your children because you won’t be able to take care of them. Thus, always find a couple of minutes just for yourself!

Being a mom on the go can take its toll, so make sure to make your life more organized and take care of yourself.

  1. Love to read it.. Specially sometime for yourself is a great idea.. But I always ignore this one

  2. Some Me-Time is essential for every mom. I chose to ignore it earlier but glad that realized it soon before losing my sanity and the reason I started blogging again. However, I still have to multitask efficiently, especially time management (super bad at it).
