Review // Figaro Olive Oil

I have mentioned in the title of the blog My favorite oils” that olive oil is one of my favorite oil which I am using every day and listed some uses of this oil. As we know that olive oil has been used for centuries as an aid to beauty treatment. It has been using as a hair care, as well as a skincare treatment. I also include olive oil in my daily beauty regime. I have been using this Figaro Olive Oil for the last 8 to 9 years. My Experiences with Figaro Olive Oil

Figaro olive oil comes in a dark green rectangular-shaped tin can with a green screw cap on top. I am not impressed with such kind of packaging.  What I dislike most about the packaging is the placement of the cap, as it makes it difficult to pour the oil out without creating a mess on the top of the tin, so it totally travels unfriendly. To keep the bottle always straight to avoid the leakage. You can pour some oil on another bottle while travelling.

The consistency of the oil is not very thick and it spreads easily on the skin and scalp. It is light yellow in color and the fragrance is very mild just like baby oil.

This Olive Oil is great; I have been using it for everything from my lips to my hair and my skin.

How I apply the oil // Hair

– I take about 2 tablespoons of oil in a bowl and heat it for about 15 seconds. The amount of oil required will depend on the length of your hair.
– Then dip my fingers into the oil and then massage my scalp.
– Once I've evenly applied and massaged the oil all over my scalp, I then apply the oil to the rest of my hair. I pay more attention to the roots and my dry ends.
– Then wrap a hot towel on my head and leave it on for about 30-45 minutes. Sometimes I don’t follow this step and just leave the oil on for about 1 hour before washing my hair. Instead of a hot towel, even a shower cap will work to help keep the heat in.
– I usually have to wash my hair twice to get all the oil off; after which I only apply conditioner to the ends of my hair. You will notice that your hair doesn't really need much conditioner after a good hot olive oil massage.
– I then let my hair dry naturally.
I apply a small amount every other day to keep my hair moisturized, and it gives it a really healthy shine too.

How I apply the oil // Skin

The brand of olive is Figaro Virgin Olive Oil. It is not in its pure form of extra virgin olive oil. This oil also has some amount of refined Olive Oil. So I would advise, not to use it directly on the face or for cleansing purposes. But I have tried this on my face along with some other oils. This was really good.

This oil has worked wonders on my dry skin, especially in winter.  I add a few drops of olive oil with body lotion, glycerin and rose water to get extra nourishment. Thus helping to keep my skin looking healthy and nourished.

It also helped with removing my makeup especially for the eye-makeup. And it did such an amazing job.

I have loved to use it for my lips when they are really chapped and get dry. You may like to read one of my favourite lip scrub recipes with olive oil, click Here

I Like that
  1. Makes my hair healthy, shiny, soft  and manageable hair
  2. Helps in the treatment of dandruff
  3. Helps control frizzy hair when applied to damp hair
  4. Conditions my hair very well
  5. Use as an eye makeup remover
  6. Very Mild and pleasant smell, not irritate

I don't like that

Only the packaging

Overall, Figaro Olive Oil is a fantastic moisturizer for the body, lips, and hair no matter your race, age, skin or hair type.  This is one of the best olive oil I have ever used.  I definitely recommend it for those who really want oil for multipurpose. This Figaro Olive Oil definitely does wonders for the skin and hair.

Have any of you tried olive oil or in particular the Figaro brand for your hair? Or do you use any other oil on your hair? I’d like to know what your ritual is like, do you do anything differently?
