10 Very Simple and Practical Ways to Handle Stress

Today our life becomes so much busy that we couldn’t take out time for our family or friends. We don’t have time even for ourselves. Since from morning till night we are running like ants and when we find that we have got a little time we used to open our smartphones to get a social life through social networking. One cannot deny that this virtual social life is another demon to increase stress. Being a working woman many times I get to stress out and frustrated thinking how to manage work and home. Even when I am working from home couldn’t understand how to manage both things. In terms of home management or good parenting many times I feel that things are not going well and this again increases the stress.

So to get rid of these low feelings and unhappiness I have started to follow some ways.

Divide the workload

At home, we usually get several kinds of work to do. So it becomes hectic for a person to complete all of them single-handedly. So these house chores can be divided amongst the family members according to their ability. This will not only reduce the load but also teach them how to help each other.

Organize the task list

Panic hampers the quality of work. The workload becomes heavier if we overthink. So it’s better to organize the task list and perform it on priority or necessity basis. This will decrease the anxiety level and will generate positivity.

Meditation

It is the most tested and effective way to calm down and to increase the focus on work. A two-minute meditation helps in relaxing the mind and reduces anxiety and worry. Start a 2 minutes session and then slowly extend it into 15 mins over time.

Adequate water intake

All our body organs including heart and brain require an adequate amount of water to function properly. It is very important to keep our body hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. It is recommended that we should drink two to three liters of water each day.

Spend some quality time with kids

We work day and night to see the smile on our kid's face. Their happiness gives us immense pleasure. Spending a good time with kids can easily destress us. We can plan our weekends with them by a garden picnic or an outdoor game.

Enjoy your hobby

It is important to have some self-time or me-time. Hobbies seem very useful in relieving stress. Doing some leisure time activities of our choice like gardening, scrapbooking, maintaining an aquarium, painting, playing an instrument, or reading storybooks gives us back the energy to work again.

Sleep

Sleep is a very important human function. It gives our body rest and allows our brain to recharge. Lack of sleep and rest increases stress and anxiety. A regular sleep routine improves concentration and restores the body. Healthy adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night.

Unplug from technology

We have got a habit of checking our cell phones every second. It often makes us get busy with no reasons and distracts from work. We simply got engage in it and ignore our real relationships. So it’s important to choose a time when we will not use technology and dedicate more time towards healthy habits like nature walk, physical exercise or simply spending some time with family and friends.

Drink green tea

Green tea is popular for its high antioxidant content, but along with that, it contains L-theanine (an amino acid) which relaxes the mind while keeping the brain alert.  Studies have shown that 4 to 5 cups of green tea can be consumed each day.

Laugh out loud

Laughter is the best natural medicine. It cures half of the illness without doing any harm or spending expense. A good Laugh leaves a great effect on the body and mind by lightening the mood. To laugh read joke books, practice laughter yoga, or share your funny experiences with friends.

Stress can come at any point in time or in any condition. We should not ignore it or not leave it untreated as it can cause serious health issues. So, by applying the above-mentioned tips one can break the cycle of stress and enjoy life to the fullest.
